Dollar General Ad 5/29: Best Sales & Deals

Here are the best deals I spotted in the Dollar General ad for May 29 - June 5, 2016.

If you plan to become a regular couponer at Dollar General, I strongly recommend building a personal relationship with your store's general manager so the cashiers don't freak out at the sight of your coupon binder.  

Bringing a copy of the Dollar General coupon policy is always a smart idea too!  The policy updated back in December 2014, so you might need to print yourself a new copy.

• Powerade® -- 32 oz bottles on sale for 95 cents each.  Buy two and use the BOGO digital Dollar General coupon.  Your price drops to 48 cents per bottle!  NOTE: If you're not familiar with how Dollar General digital coupons work, go here for my how-to guide!
• Sparkling Ice Tea -- priced at $1 per bottle.  Submit for this 50 cents Ibotta rebate (expires 5/29) and get yours for just 50 cents.
• Dawn Dishwashing Liquid -- 12.6 oz bottles on sale for $1 each.  Use the 25 cents off coupon from the 5/29 P&G insert and pay 75 cents for yours.
• Hershey's® Candy Bar Snack Packs -- 5-count packs on sale for $1 each, plus on a Buy 3, Get 1 Free sale.  So buy four packs for $3, or just 75 cents each!
• Trolli® 3.5-4 oz. or Now and Later® Candy Bags -- also on sale for $1 each, plus on a Buy 3, Get 1 Free sale.  So that's also four bags for $3, or 75 cents apiece!
• Charmin Basic Toilet Paper -- priced at $4.95 per 12-pack, but click here to see how you can grab yours for just 95 cents!
• Dr Pepper®, Sunkist®, A&W®, 7Up®, Sun Drop® or Canada Dry® 2-Liters -- on sale for 95 cents per bottle.
• Eggo Waffles -- priced at $2 per box.  Use this $1 off coupon (points required) and snag yours for just $1.
• Pringles -- on sale 4 cans for $5.  Use this $1 off coupon (points required) and grab yours 4 for $4 instead.  That works out to a buck per can!
• Twizzlers® -- 9 oz bags on sale 2 for $2, must buy in quantities of two to receive discount.  So that's a buck per bag!
• Country Crock -- priced as low as $2 per container.  Use the 75 cents off digital DG coupon and get yours for $1.25.
• Mountain Dew or Pepsi 2-Liters -- on sale for $1.25 per bottle.
• Pop-Tarts -- on sale 3 boxes for $5, must buy in quantities of three to receive discount.  Use this $1 off coupon (points required) and score yours three for $4.  That's $1.34 per box!
• Prego Pasta Sauce -- on sale for $2 per jar, plus you'll receive a free box of Barilla Pasta when you buy two jars in the same transaction.  So that's $4 for three items, which works out to $1.34 apiece.
• Little Debbie® Nutty Bars® Oatmeal Creme Pies, Swiss Rolls or Honey Buns -- on sale for $1.50 per box.
• Peter Pan Peanut Butter -- on sale for $2 per jar.
• Tide® Pods™ or Gain® Flings!™ -- priced at $4.50 per bag.  Use the $2 off coupon from the 5/29 P&G inserts and pay $2.50 for yours.
• Nestle Ice Cream Novelties -- priced at $3.50 per box.  Buy four for $14, then submit for this $3 off $12 SavingStar rebate.  Your price drops to four for $11, or just $2.75 each!
• Coca-Cola® or Sprite® 12-Packs -- on sale 3 for $9, must buy in quantities of three to receive discount.  So that's just $3 each!  NOTE: HEB shoppers have a better deal available this week.
• Arm & Hammer® Double Duty Cat Litter -- 12 lb boxes priced at $5 apiece.  Use this $1.50 off coupon and get yours for just $3.50.
• Scott® Paper Towels -- 6-count packs of mega towels (like 10 regular-size rolls) on sale 2 for $9, must buy in quantities of two to receive discount.  Use two $1 off coupons from the 5/15 Smartsource insert.  Your new price drops to 2 for $7, or $3.50 per pack.  That's just 35 cents per regular size roll of paper towels!
• Hefty Trash Bags -- assorted varieties priced at $4.75 per box.  Use this $1 off coupon and get yours for $3.75 instead.
• Iams Dry Dog Food -- 3 lb bags priced at $5.95, with a free tray of Cesar Wet Dog Food with purchase.  Use the $2 off coupon from the 5/1 Red Plum insert and score yours for $3.95 instead.
• Purex® Liquid Laundry Detergent -- 110-load bottles priced at $7 each.  Buy two and use this $3 off 2 coupon.  Your new price drops to $5.50 each.  That's just a nickel per load of laundry!
