Walgreens Sales: Possible Money-Maker On Nexxus & CoverGirl

Looks like the Walgreens Points Booster coupon might be coming back for Mother's Day 2014!

If you're not familiar with the Points Booster coupon, it's good for an additional 5000 Balance Reward points back when you spend $25 or more before manufacturer coupons.  That's like $5 in buying power on a future transaction!

Sometimes the Point Booster coupons only appear regionally, but if we happen to see it in our May 11 Walgreens ad, it will run from Sunday through Tuesday.

Here's a possible money-maker deal scenario on Nexxus & CoverGirl products, just to get you thinking on ways to use the coupon:

  • Nexxus Products -- Buy two or more, and receive a $10 Register Reward to use on a future purchase beginning May 11, 2014.
  • No prices are listed in the ad, but the Nexxus Pro Mend Split End Treatment Daily Shampoo is listed at $10.99 each on the Walgreens site.
  • So buy two of those for a pre-coupon price of $21.98, plus a CoverGirl Lip Perfection Lipstick priced at $4.99, and a bottle of NeilMed Wound Wash, which will be on sale for $5, with $5 back in Register Rewards.
  • Your pre-coupon price for all four items is $31.97.
  • Give the Boost Pointer coupon, a $2 off CoverGirl coupon from the 5/11 P&G insert, and two $6 off Nexxus coupons from the May 2014 issue of Glamour magazine.
  • You'll pay $17.97 out of pocket at the register.  But then you'll receive $15 in Register Rewards, plus 5000 Balance Reward points.  So that's $20 worth of future buying power -- or like a $2.03 money-maker!
Remember, the Walgreens Boost Pointer coupon won't be available to use until Sunday, May 11.
