Dollar General Ad 5/15: Best Sales & Deals

Here are the best deals I spotted in the Dollar General ad for May 15 - 21, 2016.

If you plan to become a regular couponer at Dollar General, I strongly recommend building a personal relationship with your store's general manager so the cashiers don't freak out at the sight of your coupon binder.  

Bringing a copy of the Dollar General coupon policy is always a smart idea too!  The policy updated back in December 2014, so you might need to print yourself a new copy.

Best deals in the 5/15 Dollar General ad

• Gatorade -- on sale for $1 per 32 oz bottle.  Use the 25 cents off DG digital coupon to pay 75 cents out of pocket.  Next, submit your receipt here for a coupon for another FREE 32 oz bottle of Gatorade.  So that's like two bottles for a final price of 75 cents, or just 38 cents apiece!  NOTE: If you're not familiar with how Dollar General digital coupons work, go here for my how-to guide!
• Van Camp's Pork and Beans -- on sale 2 cans for $1, must buy in quantities of two to receive discount.  So that's just 50 cents per can!
• Dr Pepper, Canada Dry, 7UP, Sunkist, A&W, or Sun Drop 2-Liters -- on sale for 95 cents per bottle.  Must buy in quantities of three to receive discount.
• Clover Valley ® Hot Dog or Hamburger Buns -- on sale for $1 per pack.
• Crush, Mountain Dew, Barq's, Fanta, Mello Yello, RC, or Sunkist 2-Liters -- on sale for $1 each.
• Hefty Foam Plates -- 45-count bags on sale for $1.50 each.  Buy two and use this $1 off 2 coupon.  Your new price drops to a buck per bag.
• Clover Valley Wheat Bread -- on sale for $1.50 per loaf.
• Little Debbie Mini Donuts -- priced at $1.50 per bag.
• Clover Valley Peanut Butter -- non sale for $2 per jar.
• Suavitel Fabric Softener -- 50 oz bottles on sale for $3 each.  Use the $1 off coupon from the 5/1 Smartsource insert and pay $2 for yours.
• Xtra Liquid Laundry Detergent -- 48 load bottle priced at $2.75.  Use this 75 cents off DG coupon and get yours for just $2 instead.

• Coca-Cola -- 12-count packs on sale 2 for $5.  Must buy in quantities of two to receive discount; limit four per customer.  So that's just $2.50 per pack!
• Energizer Max Batteries -- 4-count AA or AAA packs on sale for $3.75 each.  Use the 75 cents off coupon from the 4/10 Smartsource insert.  Your new price drops to three bucks.
• Energizer EZ Turn & Lock Hearing Aid Batteries -- on sale for $5 per 4-count pack.  Use the $1.50 off coupon from the 4/10 Smartsource insert and pay $3.50 for yours.
• Iams Dry Dog Food -- on sale for $5.50 per bag.  Use the $2 off coupon from the 5/1 Red Plum insert and get yours for just $3.50.
