Dollar General Ad 8/31: Best Sales & Deals

Here are the best deals I spotted in the Dollar General ad for August 31 - September 7, 2014.  

If you plan to become a regular couponer here, I strongly recommend building a personal relationship with your store's general manager so the cashiers don't freak out at the sight of your coupon binder.  

Bringing a copy of the Dollar General coupon policy is always a smart idea too!

• Select Gain or Gain-Scented Products -- Spend $15 or more AFTER coupons, receive a $5 off Dollar General coupon on the bottom of your receipt, good towards a future purchase.  There are clearly lots of deals available here, but I like the Mr. Clean Liquid Muscle scenario: Buy 9 bottles for $2.50 each, which is a pre-coupon price of $22.50.  Use three B2G1 Free coupons from the 8/30 P&G to take $7.50 off your total.  You'll pay $15 out of pocket for all 9 bottles, and then you'll receive your $5 coupon to use next time.  So that's like a final price of $10 for all 9 bottles, or just $1.11 apiece!
