Walgreens Ad 4/6: Best Sales & Deals

Here are my picks for the best deals in the Walgreens ad for April 6 - 12, 2014.

If you're new to shopping at Walgreens, check out my how-to guide to get yourself up to speed!  Walgreens is slightly quirky with their policies, so you'll want to be fully prepped before you hit the store.

Also, be sure to check out the Walgreens ad itself in the newspaper this weekend -- it looks like some regions may receive an in-ad coupon good for 20% off regularly priced items from April 6 - 8, 2014.

 Best deals in the 4/6 Walgreens ad
  • Starbucks Iced Coffee -- on sale for 99 cents, with 99 cents back in Register Rewards.  So free!
  • Lindt Chocolate Bar -- priced at $2.49 each.  If you haven't yet downloaded the Shopmium app, you can get this for free as your welcome offer!  Go here for more details.
  • TRUEresult Blood Glucose Monitor -- on sale for $12.99, with a $12.99 mail-in rebate form available in box.  So free after rebate!
  • Colgate Max Fresh Toothpaste -- on sale 2 for $5, with $3 back in Register Rewards.  Use two 75 cents off coupons from the 3/30 Smartsource insert, and knock your final price down to a quarter per tube.  
  • Progresso Soup -- on sale 4 cans for $5 with in-ad coupon.  If you have the (very regional!) $1 off coupons from the 3/16 Smartsource insert, you can stack four of those and drop your price down to $1 for all four cans.  That works out to just a quarter apiece!
  • General Mills Cereal -- assorted varieties (including Cheerios and Honey Nut Cheerios) on sale 2 boxes for $5, with 2000 Balance Reward points back when you buy two in the same transaction (like $2 in future buying power.)  Use two $1 off coupons from the 3/16 Smartsource, and your final price drops to 50 cents per box!  That's an AMAZING price for name brand cereal, so I recommend shopping the sale early as shelves will definitely clear.
  • Coffee-Mate -- on sale 2 bottles for $3.  Use two of this $1 off Coffee-Mate coupon and your new price falls to 50 cents apiece.
  • Rolaids Tablets -- on sale 2 bottles for $8, with 3000 Balance Reward points back when you buy two in the same transaction.  We may see a BOGO coupon in the 4/6 Red Plum insert -- if that appears, you'll pay $4 out of pocket, then receive your 3000 Balance Reward points.  So that's a final price of $1 for 2 bottles, or 50 cents apiece!
  • Garnier Fructis Shampoo or Conditioner -- on sale for $3 per bottle, with 2000 Balance Reward points back when you spend $10 or more.  Buy four for a pre-coupon price of $12, then use four $2 off coupons from the 3/2 Red Plum insert.  You'll pay $4 out of pocket, then you'll receive your 2000 points for a future transaction.  So your final price is $2 for all four bottles, or 50 cents apiece!
  • Easter Grass -- bags on sale 2 for $1, which works out to 50 cents apiece.
  • ACT II Popcorn -- on sale for 50 cents per individual bag with in-ad coupon.
  • Easter Novelties & Toys -- on sale Buy 2 for 99 cents each, Get 1 for free.  So that's 3 toys for $1.98, or 66 cents apiece.
  • Arrid or Arm & Hammer Deodorant -- on sale for 99 cents each.
  • Speed Stick Gear Deodorant -- on sale 2 for $8, with $2 back in Register Rewards.  Use two of this $2 off coupon (sort by Personal Care to find it fast.)  You'll pay $4 out of pocket, then receive your $2 in Register Rewards back.  So that's like paying $2 for both, or a buck apiece.
  • The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug -- on sale for $14.99 per DVD beginning Tuesday, April 8.
  • iTunes Gift Cards -- Buy two $25 gift cards, snag a free $10 Walgreens gift card with purchase.  Limit 2 per customer (and I would bring the ad with you to the register to ensure the cashier is aware of this promotion!)
  • Blue Diamond Almonds -- on BOGO sale, no prices listed in ad.  It looks like we should have a 75 cents off 2 coupon in the 4/6 Smartsource to stack back.
  • Hefty Slider Bags -- on BOGO sale, no prices listed in ad.  Use the $1 off 2 coupon from the 3/9 Red Plum insert to drop your price even further.
  • Nature Made Vitamins -- on BOGO sale, no prices listed in ad.  Use the $2 off 2 coupon from the 3/9 Smartsource insert (expires 4/9) to drop your price down even lower.
  • Kleenex -- select sizes on BOGO sale, no prices listed in ad.
