best deals at CVS
Here are the best freebies and deals I spotted in the CVS ad for April 28 - May 4, 2013.

If you're new to shopping at CVS, go here to get started, and be sure to snag a free Extra Care card from your cashier when you head into the store.

Freebies in the April 28 CVS ad scan

  • Hershey's or Mars single chocolate bars -- on sale for 99 cents.  Scan your Extra Care card at the magic coupon machine for a 99 cents off CVS coupon, and get yours for free.
  • Oral B Pulsar or Cross Action battery powered toothbrush -- on sale for $5.99, with $3 back in Extra Bucks.  Use the $3 off coupon from the 3/31 P&G insert (expires 4/30) and get yours for free.
  • Zyrtec -- 5-count packs on sale for $6.  Use the $6 off coupon arriving in the 4/28 Smartsource insert and yours are free!
Best deals in the April 28 CVS ad scan
  • Dawn Hand Renewal dish detergent -- on sale for 99 cents per bottle.  Use the 50 cents off coupon from the 3/31 P&G insert (expires 4/30) and pay 49 cents instead.
  • Orbit gum -- on sale for $1 per pack.  There's a CVS coupon available for $1 off when you buy a pack of Orbit, a pack of M&Ms, and a 20oz soda in the same transaction.  So stack that coupon with the 99 cents off coupon listed above, and you're only paying for the 20oz soda, which is usually around $1.50.  So that works out to 50 cents per item.
  • Pepsi 2-liter bottles -- on sale for 99 cents each.
  • Crest toothpaste -- on sale for $1.99 per tube.  Use the $1 off coupon arriving in the 4/28 P&G insert and get yours for just 99 cents.
  • Milk -- on sale for $1.99 per half-gallon.
  • FiberPlus bars -- on sale 2 boxes for $5.  Use the $1 off 2 coupon from the 4/7 Red Plum insert and pay two bucks per box.
  • Purina Cat Chow -- on sale for $5 per bag, plus $4 back in Extra Bucks when you spend $15.  So get three bags, and use three $1 off coupons from the 4/21 Smartsource insert.  Your price drops to $8 for all three bags, or $2.67 each.
  • CVS diapers or training pants -- on sale for $5.99 per jumbo pack, with $1 back in Extra Bucks.  So your final price is $4.99 instead.
  • Spoiled nail tote with flip-flops -- on sale for $9.99, with $4 back in Extra Bucks.  So that's like paying $5.99 for a great summer gift idea.
  • Febreze products -- Spend $20 or more, get $10 back in Extra Bucks.  No prices listed in ad, but we will see assorted coupons in the 4/28 P&G insert to stack back.
  • Hallmark cards -- Spend $20 or more, get $5 back in Extra Bucks.
  • Sally Hansen products -- Spend $10 or more, get $5 back in Extra Bucks.
  • Pond's cleansing facial towelettes -- on BOGO sale, no prices listed in ad.
You can see the complete ad for the week over on i heart cvs right now. Let me know if I missed any great deals, and I will add them to the recap!
