Free SavingStar App Now Live: Use At Walmart, Target, & More!

Remember when I said last month that the rebate website SavingStar was expanding to work at more national chains, including Walmart, Target, Walgreens, Family Dollar, Dollar General, and more?

Well, the free SavingStar app is now up and running, which means we can start saving more at those chains right away!
If you're not familiar with SavingStar, here's a quick overview of how it works:

When you sign up with SavingStar, you'll need to take a couple of minutes and do two things: a) link up your current store loyalty cards into the system and b) download the free app via either Google Play or the Apple App Store.

Once you've installed the app on your smartphone, go to the Stores tab, and hit the + sign on the bottom right hand corner of the screen.  You can then add all the stores you shop at into your app.

Then whenever new offers come out, you visit the app and choose which ones you want to download onto your account.

For the new stores added to the app (like Walmart, Target, Dollar General, Walgreens, and Family Dollar), you will need to take a picture of your receipt after you've purchased the appropriate items -- just like you do with Ibotta, Checkout 51, or Shopmium.

For stores that have loyalty cards, you can skip that step, as long as you've linked up your card to your account.

Your savings will go into your SavingStar account in a few days, depending on which store you shop at.  You'll receive an email alerting you once your money has been deposited into your account!

Once you've saved a minimum of $5, you can request your money be transferred to your bank account, your PayPal account, or even your Amazon account.

I am already seeing a lot of deals that will be free or super-cheap after coupons and SavingStar rebates, so I'll definitely be posting matchups for this app.
