Dollar General Ad 10/9: Best Sales & Deals

Here are the best deals I spotted in the Dollar General ad running 10/9 - 10/15/16.

If you plan to become a regular couponer at Dollar General, I strongly recommend building a personal relationship with your store's general manager so the cashiers don't freak out at the sight of your coupon binder.  

Bringing a copy of the Dollar General coupon policy is always a smart idea too!  The policy updated back in December 2014, so you might need to print yourself a new copy.

  • ALPO® Canned Dog Food -- on sale for 65 cents per can.  Buy six cans for $3.90, then use this $2 off 6 coupon.  Your price drops to $1.90 for all six cans, or just 32 cents each!
  • Stauffer's Animal Crackers -- on sale for $1 per bag.  Use this 55 cents off coupon (sort by Food to find it fast) and get yours for just 45 cents.
  • Betty Crocker Cookie Mix -- on sale for $1 per pouch.  Submit for this 50 cents Ibotta rebate and snag yours for just 50 cents.
  • Angel Soft Bathroom Tissue -- 4-count pack on sale for $1 each.  Use the 45 cents off coupon from the 9/11 Red Plum insert (expires 10/11) and get yours for just 55 cents!
  • Carnation® Evaporated Milk -- on sale for $1 per can.
  • Eggo Waffles -- on sale for $2 per box.  Use this $1 off coupon (points required) and pay a buck per box!
  • Fanta®, Barq's®, Mist TWST®, Mtn Dew® Code Red® or Crush® -- 2-liters on sale for $1 each.
  • Halloween Decorations -- multiple items priced at $1 each!
  • Halloween Pumpkin Leaf Bags -- on sale for $1 each.
  • Halloween Partyware or Serveware -- on sale for $1 each.
  • Pillsbury® Funfetti® Cake Mix -- on sale for $1 per box.
  • Ragú® Pasta Sauce -- on sale 3 jars for $3, must buy in quantities of three to receive discount.  So that's $1 per jar!
  • Trick or Treat Buckets or Totes -- on sale for $1 each.
  • Clover Valley® Sugar -- 2 lb bags of either powdered or brown sugar on sale for $1.25 each.
  • Bath Towels -- priced at $3 each.
  • Bed Pillows -- on sale for $5 each.
  • Fleece Blankets -- on sale for $5 each.
