Dollar General Ad 9/4: Best Labor Day Sales & Deals

Here are the best deals I spotted in the special two-day Dollar General ad running 9/4 - 9/5/16.

If you plan to become a regular couponer at Dollar General, I strongly recommend building a personal relationship with your store's general manager so the cashiers don't freak out at the sight of your coupon binder.  

Bringing a copy of the Dollar General coupon policy is always a smart idea too!  The policy updated back in December 2014, so you might need to print yourself a new copy.

• Bush's Baked Beans -- 16 oz cans on sale 3 for $3, must buy in quantities of three to receive discount.  Buy six for $6, then submit for this 55 cents off 2 Checkout 51 rebate (can submit three times for a total of $1.65 back.)  Your final price drops to $4.35 for all six cans, or just 73 cents apiece!
• Gatorade® -- 32 oz bottles on sale for 85 cents each.
• Nabisco Cheese Nips® Original Crackers -- on sale for $1.50 per box.  Buy two for a pre-coupon price of $3, then use the $1 off 2 coupon from the 8/14 Smartsource insert (this was a regional coupon, some of you may have received a 75 cents off 2 coupon instead.)  Your final price drops to 2 for $2, or a buck per box!
• Jiffy-Foil® Medium Roaster or Lasagna Pans -- priced at $2.50 each, plus on a BOGO 50% off sale.  So buy two for $3.75, which works out to $1.88 apiece.
• Kingsford® Original Charcoal -- 7.7 lb bags on sale for $5 each (down from $6.50.)  Submit for this $3 Shopmium rebate (limit one redemption per app.)  Your final price drops to $2!
• Xtra® Liquid Laundry Detergent -- 150 oz bottles on sale for $3.50 each (down from $5.)  Use the $1 off coupon from the 8/7 Smartsource insert.  Your new price drops to $2.50, which is 50% off regular shelf price!
• Hanes® Men's Color Crews or Pocket Tees -- on sale 3 for $12 (down from $5.50 each.)  So that works out to $4 per shirt!  Must buy in quantities of three to receive discount.
• Hefty® Trash Bags -- 35-count boxes on sale for $5.95 each (down from $7.)  Use the $1 off coupon from the 8/28 Red Plum insert, and get yours for $4.95 instead.
• Ladies' Dorm Shirts -- on sale for $5, down from $7 to $9 apiece.
• Folding Tables -- 6-foot tables on sale for $29, down from $36.
