If you plan to become a regular couponer here, I strongly recommend building a personal relationship with your store's general manager so the cashiers don't freak out at the sight of your coupon binder.
Bringing a copy of the Dollar General coupon policy is always a smart idea too! Note that the policy updated in December 2014, so you likely need to print yourself a new copy.
Best Proctor & Gamble deals in the 1/25 Dollar General ad
Proctor & Gamble Products -- Spend $15 or more AFTER coupons, get $5 off your next purchase! Your $5 off coupon will print at the bottom of your qualifying receipt, and you'll only receive one per transaction. Once you receive the $5 off coupon, you'll be able to use it through February 7, 2015.
Here are a couple of good deal scenario options I see from the ad:
- Secret Scent Expressions Deodorant -- on sale for $3 each. Buy eight for a pre-coupon price of $24, then use three $3 off 2 coupons from the 1/25 P&G insert. You'll pay $15 out of pocket, and then you'll earn your $5 off coupon. So that's like paying 8 for $10, or just $1.25 each!
- Olay Facial Cleansers (excluding Olay Regenerist) -- on sale for $4 each. Buy six for a pre-coupon price of $24, then use three $3 off 2 coupons from the 1/25 P&G insert. You'll pay $15 out of pocket, and then you'll receive your $5 off coupon. So that's like a final price of 6 for $10, or just $1.67 apiece!
- Always Discreet Pads or Underwear -- on sale for $4 per pack. Buy six packs for a pre-coupon price of $24, then use four $2 off coupons from the 1/25 P&G insert. You'll pay $16 out of pocket, and then you'll receive your $5 off coupon. So that's like paying $11 for 6 packs, or just $1.83 apiece!
- Tide Laundry Detergent -- 75 oz bottles (like 48 loads) on sale for $7.50 each. Buy three bottles for a pre-coupon price of $22.50, then use three $2 off coupons from the 12/28 P&G insert. You'll pay $16.50 out of pocket, and then you'll earn your $5 off coupon. So that's like paying $11.50 for 3 pretty large bottles, or $3.83 apiece. That works out to about 8 cents per load, which is a great price for Tide!

- Pepsi 2-Liters -- on sale for $1.25 each. Buy one bottle, plus a $2.50 bag of either Doritos or Cheetos, for a pre-coupon price of $3.75. Use this $2 off 2 Dollar General digital coupon. - Hormel Chili -- on sale for $1.25 per can. Buy two and use the 55 cents off 2 coupon from the 1/4 Smartsource insert. Your price drops to $1.95 for both cans, or 98 cents apiece.
- Clover Valley Snacks -- priced at $1 per bag. Includes potato chips, tortilla chips, and pretzels.
- Tostitos Salsa -- on sale for $2.50 per jar, plus on a Buy 2 Get 1 Free sale. So that's 3 jars for $5, or $1.67 apiece.
- Clover Valley Cheese Slices -- on sale for $2 per pack.
- Eckrich Bologna -- on sale for $2 per pack.
- Nature's Own Bread -- on sale for $2 per loaf.
- Lay's Potato Chips -- on sale for $3.50 per bag, plus on a Buy 2 Get 1 Free sale. So that's 3 bags for $7, or $2.33 apiece.
- Pepsi or Mountain Dew 12-Packs -- on sale 3 for $9, which works out to $3 apiece. Must buy three to receive the sale price!
- DiGiorno Pizza -- on sale for $4.50 each. Buy two for $9, then use the $2 off 2 coupon from the 1/25 Red Plum insert. Your price drops to 2 for $7, or $3.50 apiece.
