Tide Pods will be part of that week's Spend $30, Receive a $10 Gift Card promotion -- and it looks like we'll also be seeing $2 off coupons arriving in the 11/16 Red Plum inserts too.
So here's how the math works out:
- Tide Pods -- 14-count bags on sale for $3.94 each.
- In two separate transactions, buy a total of 8 bags of Tide Pods (in other words, buy four bags in one transaction, and then four bags in a second transaction.)
- All 8 bags will cost you a pre-coupon price of $31.52, which is plenty to trigger your $10 gift card. You can choose from a variety of different gift cards, including a AMEX gift card!
- Now, use a total of 8 $2 off coupons from the 11/16 Red Plum insert (four coupons in each transaction.)
- All those coupons will take a total of $16 off your purchase.
- So you'll pay $15.52 out of pocket for all 8 bags, and then you'll still have your $10 gift card.
- That means your final price is just $5.52 for 8 bags, or 69 cents per bag!
NOTE: The reason you need to split your purchases into two transactions is that coupons for P&G products like Tide are limited to four like coupons per transaction. If you buy all eight bags at once, you won't be allowed to use all eight coupons.
Also, I'm guessing you're going to have to hit up a couple of stores anyway to find all eight bags, so it's handy that you can split up your purchases, and still earn your gift card once you hit your pre-coupon total of $30.
