Target Reader Tip: Super-Cheap L'Oreal Hair Care After Coupons!

Reader Mona writes in to report she scored a fantastic money-maker on L'Oreal Advanced Haircare shampoo and conditioners at Target yesterday!

She was able to stack BOGO coupons from the paper, $5 off $20 printable coupons, and a Target coupon for a free $5 gift card with purchase to get paid for all her products!

Here's how her scenario worked:

  • L'Oreal Advanced Haircare shampoo and conditioner -- on sale for $3.99 each.
  • Buy six for a grand pre-coupon total of $23.94.
  • Give these coupons FIRST: the Target mobile coupon for a free $5 gift card with $20 purchase (text BEAUTY to 827438 to get yours) and a printable $5 off $20 L'Oreal coupon (sort by Personal Care to find it fast.)
  • So that will take you down to $18.94, plus you'll have the $5 Target gift card to use on your next transaction.
  • Next, give two of these $5 off 2 L'Oreal coupons (also sort by Personal Care to find them fast) and one BOGO coupon from the 1/5 Red Plum insert, plus one of these $1 off Target coupons.
  • For Mona, the BOGO coupon scanned for the full $7.49 amount.  So these four coupons took off a total of $18.49 from her purchase.
  • So that drops you down to 45 cents out of pocket, then you still have your $5 Target gift card.  That's a profit of $4.55 on the transaction!
Now, I am guessing that many stores will not allow that BOGO coupon to go for $7.49, but instead over-ride it and input a $3.99 price point.

So if you want a different scenario that doesn't include that possible complication, here's another idea to consider:
  • Buy 6 shampoos and conditioner for a pre-coupon price of $23.98.
  • Next, use three $5 off 2 L'Oreal coupons (you'll need two computers) plus the $1 off Target printable coupon.
  • Those take another $16 off your purchase.  So you'll pay $2.94 out of pocket, and you'll have the $5 gift card.  That's a profit of $2.06!
Finally, it's possible that some stores will only allow you to use two $5 off 2 coupons, the Target mobile coupon for a free $5 gift card, the $5 off $20 coupon, and the $1 off Target printable coupon.

If that's the case, your after-coupon price works out to $7.94 out of pocket, with your free $5 Target gift card for next time.  That's a final price of $2.94 for all six bottles -- or 49 cents each.  Still a pretty awesome price if you ask me.

Big thanks to Mona for spotting this amazing deal -- and let me know how it works for you in stores!
