UPDATE: Reader Amy did some legwork on this deal after finding that her local CVS store didn't want to sell her the PayPal pre-paid debit card. Here's what she reports back:
Through November 27, select areas of the country (including San Antonio) have a special deal on pre-paid PayPal reloadable debit cards -- when you load $150 on one, you'll receive a whopping $50 back in Extra Bucks!
There's a $4.95 fee to load money on the card, so that makes this a $45.05 money-maker after the fee. Imagine how much you can buy at CVS with $45.05 when you're stacking sales and coupons!
The My CVS Weekly ad states that this is limit of one per household, but readers have been reporting it was actually rolling as of last night.
In other words, you could purchase a second PayPal pre-paid debit card, pay for it with the first card, and receive an additional $50 back in Extra Bucks.
I anticipate that the rolling is a glitch that will be turned off shortly in the CVS registers -- but here's another deal idea if you want to stretch your money even further:
"In case anyone else has had problems with the CVS paypal card deal, I just got off the phone with CVS customer service. Some, many actually, of the local stores told me that they had pulled the cards due to either a glitch that was being fixed or because the deal with invalid, but that info is actually not true.
Customer service says that some bad info went out to the stores, but that the deal IS valid and that the limit is actually 2 cards. I specifically asked if the limit was 1 or 2 and they said 2 and then called my local store to have them hold 2 cards for me. If your store is claiming the deal is a glitch and isn't selling them, then call customer service and they'll call the store."Here's a super-simple way to increase your budget for Black Friday shopping courtesy of CVS!

I anticipate that the rolling is a glitch that will be turned off shortly in the CVS registers -- but here's another deal idea if you want to stretch your money even further:
- Buy a pre-paid PayPal reloadable debit card for $154.95 (that includes the fee) and receive $50 back in Extra Bucks.
- In a second transaction, purchase $100 worth of GAP, Old Navy, or Banana Republic gift cards, and pay using your new PayPal card.
- You'll receive another $25 worth of Extra Bucks from those gift cards, which you can either use as gifts or use during your Black Friday shopping (especially at Old Navy, considering the whole store is going half-price!)
- So for your initial investment of $154.95, you'll have the following: $100 worth of gift cards, $50 still left on the PayPal pre-paid debit card, and a whopping $75 worth of Extra Bucks. That's $225 worth of buying power! Plus, remember that Extra Bucks are good for around 30 days, so you have some time to figure out the best way to use them.
I know not everyone can invest that kind of cash up-front into their couponing efforts, and not all areas of the country even have this deal (again, check your My CVS Weekly ad before you hit the store.)
But this is probably one of my personal favorite couponing deals of the year for folks who are able to take advantage of it!
