Starbucks Grocery Challenge 2013: Free $10 Gift Card With Coffee Purchase

Start watching for these new peelie rewards on select bags of Starbucks ground coffee or coffee beans in stores -- when you purchase four bags and enter the codes inside those peelies, you'll earn a free $10 Starbucks Card!

This deal goes live September 8 and runs through October 19, 2013.  You'll be able to enter the codes at Starbucks.com/rewards and earn the following prizes as you build towards your free gift card:

• First code = a bonus Star on your registered Starbucks card.
• Second code = A free tall brewed coffee at any company-owned Starbucks location.
• Third code = A free food item of your choice at any company-owned Starbucks location.
• Fourth code = your free $10 Starbucks eGift card!

Here's a scenario to consider:

• Starbucks ground coffee -- 12 oz bags priced at $7.89 at Target.
• Buy four for a pre-coupon price of $31.56.
• Use two $2 off 2 coupons from the 9/8 Smartsource insert (NOTE: this coupon may be regional; I did not see it in my early Sunday paper from the San Antonio Express-News) or two of this $2 off 2 coupon.
• Pay $27.56 for all four bags of coffee.
• So that's like paying $6.89 per bag, plus all the freebies described above!

From what I can tell, it looks like you can earn one set of freebies per registered Starbucks card, so if your family goes through a lot of coffee at the holidays, it might be worth setting all the adults in the household with their own cards.

I'm not sure if these peelie codes will be available on K-Cup boxes, so keep your eyes open for those on your next few shopping trips!
