Reader Tip: Clairol Money-Maker At Family Dollar

Family Dollar coupons
I've had several readers write in this week telling me that the deal on Clairol hair color I posted here is even better if you pick yours up at Family Dollar instead of Dollar General.

In fact, reader Catrina says it turns into a money-maker after a unadvertised bounceback coupon prints at the register!

So here's how the new deal works out:

  • Clairol Balsam haircolor -- priced at $3 per box, with a $2 in Family Dollars printing at the register when you buy two in the same transaction.  That $2 coupon can be used beginning July 14 on anything you like in the store.
  • Buy two boxes of Clairol Balsam for a pre-coupon price of $6.  Use the $5 off 2 Clairol coupon from the 7/7 P&G coupon insert.
  • You'll pay $1.08 at the register after coupon and tax is applied, then you'll receive your $2 in Family Dollars.
  • So both boxes are free, and you'll make a profit of 92 cents on the transaction!
You can only earn one Family Dollars coupon per transaction, so if you want to stock up on hair color, you'll need to do multiple transactions to earn more of those $2 coupons.

Thanks so much to Catrina for the tip!
