Dollar General Ad 6/2: Best Coupon Deals & Sales

Here are the best deals I spotted in the Dollar General ad for June 2 - 9, 2013.  

If you plan to become a regular couponer here, I strongly recommend building a personal relationship with your store's general manager so the cashiers don't freak out at the sight of your coupon binder.  

Bringing a copy of the Dollar General coupon policy is always a smart idea too!


Best deals in the June 2 Dollar General ad

• Father's Day or graduation cards -- priced starting at 50 cents each.
• Ivory soap -- 3-bar packs on sale for $1 each.  Use the 50 cents off coupon from the 6/2 P&G insert and get yours for just 50 cents.
• Old Spice bar soap -- 2-count packs on sale for $1.50 each.  Use the $1 off coupon from the 6/2 P&G insert to get yours for just 50 cents.
• Energizer Max batteries -- 4-count packs of AA or AAA batteries on sale for $3.75, plus you can score a $8 gas reward card by buying specially marked packs (get more details here.)  So buy three and use three 50 cents off coupons from the 5/19 Smartsource insert.  That knocks your price down to $9.75 for all three packs, plus you can turn around and submit for your $8 gas reward card.  So your final price drops to $1.75, or around 59 cents per pack!
• Hormel Compleats -- priced at $2.40 each, and on a Buy 2 Get 1 Free sale.  So buy three and use two of the $1 off coupons from the 5/5 Smartsource insert (Dollar General doesn't allow coupons on free items.)  So your price drops to $2.80 for all 3 -- or 93 cents each.
• Father's Day balloons -- priced at $1 each.
• Dr. Pepper soda -- 2-liter bottles priced 2 for $2.  Must buy two to get the discount.
• Cheez-It crackers -- 7oz boxes priced at $2 each.  Use this 70 cents off coupon and get yours for $1.30 instead.
• Spam -- 12oz cans priced at $2.50 each, with a free dozen eggs when you buy two cans.  So buy two cans and use this $1 off 2 coupon.  Your price drops to $4 for all three items -- or $1.34 each.
• Cheerios or Cinnamon Toast Crunch -- priced at $2.50 per box.  Use this 50 cents off coupon and get yours for two bucks per box.
• Nature Valley bars -- priced at $2.50 per box.  Buy two boxes and use the 50 cents off 2 coupon.  Get yours for $2.25 each.
