See The World's Most Expensive Starbucks Drink

Here's an interesting way to blow some extra income -- apparently you can spend a whopping $47.30 assembling the world's priciest (and weirdest) Starbucks drink ever.

Beau Chevassus of Enumclaw, Washington, set out to shatter the previous record for the most expensive Starbucks drink, held by a Texan who concocted a $23.60 java chip Frappuccino.

Chevassus ordered a monster venti mocha Frappuccino with an astonishing 48 shots of espresso, plus practically every other mix-in available for an extra charge on the Starbucks menu.

The resulting drink would have cost him more than $50, if he hadn't applied both his free birthday drink (for being a registered Starbucks cardholder) and a 10-cent discount for bringing in his own mug.

As a former Starbucks barista, I can tell you that there is no way 48 shots of espresso fit into this mug -- he probably had enough extras left over to share with every other customer in the cafe.
