HEB changes coupon policy: no more coupon stacking!

UPDATE: After some vigorous complaining customer advocacy over on the HEB Facebook page today, HEB has gone back in and re-adjusted their coupon policy to once again allow stacking on 'B' and 'S' coupons.

You can print your NEW new copy of the HEB coupon policy for your binders here.  I strongly suggest doing so in case you run into cashiers or stores this weekend who got the changed policy from this morning, but not the update from this afternoon.

If none of this makes sense to you, you can always check out my HEB coupon tutorial for more information!

As of this morning, HEB has changed their coupon policy, and will no longer accept coupon stacking.  This means if you have a manufacturer coupon and a HEB coupon for the same item, you'll need to pick using one coupon over the other, regardless of whether the HEB coupon is a 'M' coupon, a 'B' coupon, or a 'S' coupon.

Here's the new language on the HEB coupon policy online:
Coupon guidelines and limitations:
  • Coupons can only be redeemed for items, brands, and sizes as specified by the requirements of the coupon.
  • Only one coupon per item is permitted.
    • Combining a manufacturer issued coupon with an H-E-B coupon on the same item is not permitted.
You can read the entire HEB coupon policy here.

HEB so far has not answered my questions about this policy change either on Facebook or Twitter, but the good ladies over at Corpus Christi Coupon Queens called into the HEB corporate customer service and confirmed that this will be enforced in stores beginning immediately.

If you'd like to share your thoughts with HEB about this policy change, here's some contact info for you:

Will this change how often you shop at HEB, and how much you spend per visit?  Let me know your thoughts over at the San Antonio Budget Grocery Facebook page.
