Seventh Generation Class Action Settlement October 2016: $4.5 Million In Payout To Consumers

Have you purchased Seventh Generation products anytime from Nov. 14, 2010 and Oct. 12, 2016?

If you did, you may be eligible for a refund of part or all of your purchase price as part of a recently settled class action lawsuit.

Seventh Generation this week has agreed to pay out $4.5 million dollars to address class action claims of deceptive and fraudulent advertising.

The class action claimed that Seventh Generation was using non-natural ingredients and chemicals in select products, while advertising those products as 'non-toxic', 'natural', and 'hypoallergenic'.

Seventh Generation admits no wrong-doing by settling the suit.

No proof of purchase is necessary to obtain settlement benefits of 50% of the purchase price of select Seventh Generation products (you can see the complete list of included products here.)  You can submit for this 50% reimbursement for up to 10 purchases.

However, shoppers who do have their receipts for these purchases will be entitled to full reimbursement.

All claims must be completed by March 30, 2017.

I've noticed a pattern of companies putting their products on steep discounts after settling a class action lawsuit -- so I bet if we watch closely, we will see coupons, sales, or rebates available for Seventh Generation products in the near future!
