Dollar General Ad 9/2: Best Labor Day Sales & Deals

Here are the best deals I spotted in the special two-day Dollar General ad running 9/2 - 9/3/16.

If you plan to become a regular couponer at Dollar General, I strongly recommend building a personal relationship with your store's general manager so the cashiers don't freak out at the sight of your coupon binder.  

Bringing a copy of the Dollar General coupon policy is always a smart idea too!  The policy updated back in December 2014, so you might need to print yourself a new copy.

• Select Socks -- priced as low as $1 per pair, plus on BOGO sale.  So get yours for as little as 2 pair for $1, or 50 cents apiece!
• Powerade® -- on sale for 65 cents per bottle.
• Bush's Baked Beans -- 16 oz cans on sale 3 for $3, must buy in quantities of three to receive discount.  Buy six for $6, then submit for this 55 cents off 2 Checkout 51 rebate (can submit three times for a total of $1.65 back.)  Your final price drops to $4.35 for all six cans, or just 73 cents apiece!
• Clover Valley® Chips -- on sale for $1 per bag, plus on a BOGO 50% off sale.  So grab two bags for $1.50, which works out to 75 cents each!
• Clover Valley® Crackers or Cookies -- priced as low as $1 per bag, plus on BOGO 50% off sale.  So get two bags for as little as $1.50, or just 75 cents apiece!
• Dr Pepper®, 7Up®, Sunkist®, A&W®, Sun Drop® or Canada Dry® -- 2-liter bottles on sale for 85 cents apiece.
• Smart & Simple® Forks, Spoons or Assorted Cutlery -- on sale for 85 cents per pack.
• Smart & Simple® Napkins -- also on sale for 85 cents per pack.
• Clover Valley® Bottled Water -- 12-count packs on sale for $2, plus on BOGO 50% sale.  So buy two for $3, which works to $1.50 each.
• Beach Towels -- priced at $4 and up, plus on a 50% off clearance sale.  So your final price could go as low as $2!
• Purina Natural Dog Chow -- 4 lb bags on sale for $5 each.  Use the $3 off coupon from the 7/31 Red Plum insert and get yourself for $2.  NOTE: There's a BOGO digital manufacturer coupon available in the DG app, but it can't be stacked with the paper manufacturer coupon.  If you want to use the BOGO coupon, you'll get two bags for $5, which works out to $2.50 apiece.
• Cottonelle® Bath Tissue -- 12-count packs on sale for $3.95 each (down from $6.)  Use the $1 off coupon from the 7/31 Smartsource insert (this was a regional coupon, so not everyone will have it) and get yours for $2.95 instead.
• Scott® Paper Towels -- 6-count pack on sale for $4.50 (down from $6.)  Use this $1 off coupon and get yours for $3.50 instead.
